    buffing/polishing compound and rubber

    i've done a bunch of wet sanding and buffing in years past (automotive), but it has been a few years, seems i remeber compound wanting to stick to/stain rubber....getting reay to rub down my rig and was taking my rub rail/trim and carpet into consideration...any special taping off or covering that i should do,,,i have read most of the "sticky" and most of my hardware has been removed, any other input appreciated...i''l try to post pics in the next day or so......

    Cover the carpets with a tarp.
    The rub rail you can tape off or depending how much control you have with a buffer just run it close to it.
    Most rub rails are vinyl and can withstand a toudh with a buffer.
