Carpet & Lid question????

How much gap needs to be left between lid sides and deck sides for carpet if your building a deck and lids. I am guessing about 1/2" would do, I just thought someone would know the exact dimension for a snug fit. I am building out of plywood and fiber-glassing. Thanks for any help.

your guess is correct, most 24 oz carpet is 1/4" thick so leave yourself 1/2" between things for carpet.

I used 3/8 as a measurement on my Ranger when I made the new lids. Seems to have worked out right.
