Just because it's closed cell doesn't make it impervious to water.
Closed cell foam has been used for a VERY long time in boats. If used improperly it can and will absorb water contrary to what manufacturers tell you. Most if not all of the water logged boats you read about in restoration forms had closed cell foam.
Not trying to worry you, all boats have some foam. Just giving a little insight.
Your right but it is is far better than open cel foam. Open cel is for the insulation industry.
