Repainting/gelcoating new port console to match existing starboard console??

I am in the process of trying to buy a boat this week and it is currently a single console. The current drivers console is solid yellow. If I can find a port console in another color, how hard would it be to recolor the console to make it match or at least come real close to matching the existing console? I am guessing that fiberglass cannot be repainted and would require gelcoating to recolor the new console. If it can be done wouuld it be possible to recolor from a dark color like gray/black to yellow without the original color showing through? Any idea what it would cost to do such a job? Hopefully any console I would find will be in like new condition and no real damage. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Changing the color on glass is not hard for a competent shop, just not going to be cheap.
Depending on how old the original console on the boat is, the gel is probably a little sun faded, so an exact color match might be the difficult part.
There is a lot of prep work involved , spraying the new gel, then sanding to a gloss finish.
Labor $$$$$.
