how do i get the gas tanks out of this 361![]()
Some boats the only way to remove is to remove the whole top cap of the boat, mine is that way.
And unless the tank leaks or you have rotting stringer under the tank why bother ?
I fish There for I am
I love the smell of two strokes, and polyester resin
i was going to clean out tanks gas has been in them for about 3 years
pump them out with air driven piston pump or something like that if a must..or just use the primer bulb you will have hand cramps!!! if it has alot of fuel remember you are messing with fuel!!!!!!!! you should have access to the fuel tank sending units pull them out gives you a much bigger hole to work thru.... get what you can out and fill them up with good fuel if you think it has water run a little heat in it it will take care of it....you going thru a lot of work to remove old gas........by removing the tanks
Call Ranger and the will help you out...
Yup go through the sending unit hole, get stiff wire and tape a brush to it if you have to, or use a pressure washer and steam it out pump it out and use rags to mop out the rest, worked good for me.don't use to much HEET its not good for 2 strokes and be carful old gas tanks are a big bomb they just need a spark, good luck!![]()
Way I see, you have two options...
Pump the gas out of the tank, clean out the tank while its still in the boat...
Pump the gas out of the tank, roll over the tank til it can fit the opening...
In my boat... I had a hard time getting the tank out til a friend suggested that I try turning it on its side or upside down or 270 degrees all way over... Finally got it out so I could get to the splashwell/transom area...
If I was you, I'd get a good pump, and pump out the gas before attempting anything else...
Good luck!
I used the primer bulb and ran a hose out of the drain hole. Gravity did the rest.![]()
