    Painted Aluminum Boat Scratches

I just put a couple of pretty deep scratches on the front of a red Triton 197 Magnum. They look pretty bad. One has actually made a small dent in the boat. I have found a source for the red paint from Triton but wondering if there is a best way to go about fixing these. I will most likely need some type of filler and/or primer because the scratches are down into the aluminum. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I don't have pictures but can get them if needed.

    Thanks in advance.

Re: Painted Aluminum Boat Scratches (TN Larry)

I repaired my Lowe aluminum using body glaze from a auto parts store, then I sanded it and painted over it with Lowe touch up paint. When finished you couldn't see the repair at all, I kept the boat 2 more years after and it help up great, I don't know if it would hold up 10+ yrs or not because I sold the boat.
