    3M 5200 question

I have removed all of my hardware from my topcap and some of the screw holes are striped out and need to be filled and pilot hole drilled again. So is the 3M 5200 the product to use? Also should I leave the holes as they are so that what little threads are in the hole it will help secure the fill repair?

    Thanks, Cooper

Cooper..5200 is more of a sealant/adhesive, it could be used to fill small screw holes, but takes a while to cure correctly. For filling larger holes to redrill, marine tex would probably be a better choice.
If you are doing repairs and already have resin handy, some thickened resin will work also.
Clean out all the loose debris, glass dust, and fill.

A little tip for filling holes with Marine Tex, is to use a tooth pick to jam the goop down in the hole. It help get out any trapped air, as well as allow the maximum amount to fill the hole.
