Possible causes for "check engine" alarm?

So I fished a tournament tonight. Ran to my spot and made a couple small runs during the tournament. Everything was great. I got on plane to run into the ramp to weigh in and went maybe 100 yards and I get a "check engine" light on my guage and a constant beep. I shut it down and fired it up again and no alarm. I just finished idling into the ramp since I wasn't far from it to begin with. I have an 04 175 DI. All new to me. What could some of the possible reasons for this alarm be?
