    Restoring Shine

I bought a boat this spring that had some oxidation on it. I tried several things on it before wet sanding it this past week. After I did that, I took it to the car wash and washed it. Then I went over it with some 3M Heavy oxidation stuff. I then used a polish on it.

I just ordered some Bass Boat Saver. I've ran throuch the search for past topics on wax and most seem to think that I won't need it before using the BBS. Is there anything (step) I've missed?

Have you used a buffer to apply the wax? Doing it by hand just wont give you the results that a high speed buffer will.

Yes, I used a buffer for the polish.

    Re: Restoring Shine (champace93)

I spent about $30 on some different rubbing compounds intially. None of them really worked all that well. I also spent about $15 on a small buffer.

I had hesitated to wet sand it - had never done anything like that. That was the much cheaper (#3) and as it turned out - better option. I should have done that to start with. I also spent $12 or so on some polish to put on after and I just ordered some bass boat saver for about $16.
