That looks like my boat, except mine is peeling like a bad sunburn. I almost believe that it could be automotive clear coat.

    Wow its gone for sure.......
i would pick out a spot and wet sand it with 1200 and shoot a small area and see if it is to your liking.....with that much gone you are going to be sanding the flake.so it will probably have a different look to it but i think it will look ok...the other option it to re gel it a solid color.....

Hi, looks like the clear has come off, I am looking at a boat to purchase that has done the same thing. Only use gelcoat !! you can use other paints, but it will peel off. I gelcoated the entire hull of my current bass boat. Main thing is to prepare before you spray. Spraying is fairly easy, its a 2 part mixture, put about 3-5 coats on most areas, 7+ coats on friction areas. Do not wait for coats to dry between coats. The final coat you add a sanding aid to help the gelcoat to dry smoother. When it completely dries, it feels like 600 grit emory cloth, you wet sand with 400 then 600, then 1000, buff, it will look great. Its not hard, it will be harder to turn the boat over to spray the hull than gelcoating !!
