I just got this boat and not real happy with the performance. It has a Opti 150 Pro XS with a 23 Tempest only turns 5200 rpm no matter where the jack plate is set. I raised the engine to 3.5" below the pad and that did nothing no speed or rpm increase.It runs 59 mph now but I am concerned about the low RPM's. It's back at the dealer to checkout the tach and to verify from the computer what RPM's it was really turning.
The math doesnt work, either your turning 5500-5600 rpm or the speed is speedo not gps and your real speed is about 55. This is as long as you have a stock 23 tempest.
I'd bet tach is off and you are getting 59 gps and once the motor breaks in you see 62-63. Let us know.

The speed reading was GPS , the motor sounds like it's winding tighter than 5200. Hopefully the dealer wil figure it out. Other than that really like the ride and handling. Oh and it is a bone stock 23 Tempest.
Got the boat back,the tach was bad. It's turning 5400@60.2mph on the GPS.I also had them install a water pressure gauge 17 psi at WOT and a blinker type trim switch behind the wheel.I'm going to try a 22 pitch over the hub prop from my brothers Allison not sure what make the prop is but I should see a few more RPM's.

I would wait and continue the breakin procedure, you may be still at double oil and many claim they gain a few hundred rpm after the 15-20 hour
range.

They usually don't open all the way until 20 hrs.

Just change the prop! I have a similar setup, and went from a 22p that came with the boat, tried 21p, and then ended up with a 19p. My hole shot is awesome now, gets on plain super fast, and RPMs are at 5700...perfect.
