    '99 Procraft 205

Thinking about buying this hull from a buddy, it is in great shape with a blown 200 xri, has a 10" th manual plate, have no numbers on performance, would likely put a 2.5 200 or 225x on it, seems like a real heavy hull, but a very big fishing platform with nice storage, would mid-high 60's be realistic? And do procrafts ride ok in rough water ?

My uncle has the same boat and high 60's is VERY doable with this rig. He has a Merc 225 EFI and he's seen 71-72 out of it. This boat also takes rough water like a champ. Very good hull in my opinion.

I'd look for a 3.0 liter 200 or 225 just for the bottom end grunt. Thats a heavy hull.

I have a 1998 Procraft 205 with a 225 Optimax. Mid 60's is easy. I hit 72 (GPS) once taking my wife for a ride. The boat was not loaded and both tanks were almost empty. Not to mention I was showing out a little. I love my boat. Wish spring would hurry up.

I think you would be better off with a 3 L. I had a 200XS 2.5L on my boat and went to 200 Pro XS Definitely way more low end torque and as good or better on top end.
