BOB little help and you might have a new customer soon

long story short I filed a claim and recieved a check minus the deductible and also minus "less betterment"........I feel like it is complete crap as I was under the impression that I had full replacement value and so did my agent (who has done about hundred policys for me in real estate)........after calling him furious yesterday this was the email response I got this morning.......I already called BS and told him that I am prepared to sue and he is to get back to me today.....is the below statement complete BS.........I have been through every sheet of paper I have on file and all three "dec" pages (one per year boat is 2 yr 4 mo old) say nothing but "replacement"...........

"We talked to a few people yesterday to inquire. You have replacement cost coverage but it changes to ACV after 2 years for a brand new boat. This is standard with any boat policy in the industry. What we have to figure out is whether your boat is “really” 2 years old by the year/model. Will be on your back on this one."

Mike, This is exactlly why Al and I thought this would be a great service to the members here. First off I can not say what coverages you do have. I would need to look at your policy to comment. Most of the standard personal lines companies work like yours. They do offer replacement coverage for the first year or two. After that it is A.C.V. and it includes depreciation on partial loss. These are good companies but there policies are not designed for what we need as fisherman. When you call most agents they are limited to a few or in a lot of cases only one company to offer ccoverage. I represent apx. 20 companies and exclusively do watercraft. With our carriers we wright replacement and agreed value policies without depreciation. There are exceptions like old boats or bad driving records and loss history. What I do is insure every boat the way I would do it for myself. Please give me a call and I will do what ever I can to help. Thanks Bob Luellen 800-339-1235 http://www.worldwidemarineins.com
