I've got 2001 Evinrude 250 HP FFI that was titled in 2006. The model # E250FCXSIG, serial # G04966565. I've ran the diagnostic software on Friday, 34 hrs of total run time and only have one code showing up and that's code 37 which is water in fuel code. The problem is while running the motor just shuts off like it run out of gas. The motor will crank but shuts off. The things I've done so far is: fresh gas, sta-bil,changed filters, checked all fuses, connections, new fuel hose, primer bulb and tried a seperate portable tank. The motor will not stay running after all doing all that.
I find it hard to believe the fuel lifter pump, fuel pump or the EMM is bad on a motor with only 34 hrs of run time although it's possible. Would it be possible that computer needs to be reset because it thinks there is water in the fuel? Any help or suggestions is greatly appreicated.
