Beech Fork Lake

Headed up yall's way next Friday for the family reunion. My mom and dad have a house right near Beech Fork State Park.

Is there any use in trying to catch a bass or two in Beech Fork Lake?

We come up there every year, and have always made plans to fish some where, but it never seems to work out. Are there any other places within 20-30 min. of Wayne or Lavalette to wet a line?

Not bringing a boat, just looking for some bank fishing opportunities or some place I can rent a small boat and fish for a couple of hours one afternoon.

Any info is appreciated.

I have never fished there but a co-worker of mine has from the bank and claims that it is pretty good at times.

bank fishing from beech for lake you are pretty much wasting your time. May catch a small catfish or two but that is about it. yatesville lake is about 30 min away and that is a better opportunity to catch some fish

It says on their website that they have boat rentals at the Beech Fork Dam, so I may go that route and rent a boat for a few hours to try it.

ive never been there, but i talked to a guy that said he catches a lot of fish down there.

Beech Fork is 10 hp limit. They have rentals at the marina. Haven't fished there for a long time but it can be good. This time of year better in the morning or late evening.

Just got back to Florida. We rented a Bass Tracker for two hours Sunday evening. Overcast and raining almost the whole time. Caught 1 Spot, 7 largemouth, 1 walleye and 1 speck (crappie). One of the largemouths weighed close to 2 lbs., but all the rest were small(8-10"). Caught all of them on shad colored #5 Shad Raps.

Beautiful lake and a beautiful state.
