Put in at the Elizabeth City ramp about 8:00 AM. Mostly just wanted to play with the new structure scan and dial in some settings, but after a little while I had to grab a rod and make some casts.
Threw a green pumpkin jig into the wood in about 6 feet of water. First cast nailed a nice 15" keeper. A couple casts later landed another the same size. Nice healthy bucks.
Switched to a fluke and got a couple more. Ran downriver to check out some creeks. Threw a bandit 100 in 2' water and caught one short after another.
No action at all on plastics.
No idea what the total count was, but it was a fun day. Water temp was 65-67. Normal brakish with a little mud towards the backs of creeks. Fish were all on the wood, with the bigger fish in 5-7 feet of water.
