    Potomac Fishing Report

Fished Saturday. Water temps 50-52 almost everywhere. A few isolated spots with 53, but few and far between. Blue bird skies, winds west 12-15. I threw a green pumpkin baby brush hog, Tennessee shad rattle-trap, crawdad speed trap and two different secret weapon spinnerbaits (threadfin with Colorado and baby bass with willow). I found no pattern at all. I tried Neabsco, Mallows Bay, Chickamuxen and Mattawoman. I got a couple dinks and 3 keepers (all less than 16") - 2 of the 3 on the spinnerbaits. Nothing at all on the speed trap or rattle-trap. But no real pattern. Water was stained and muddy everywhere, visibility less than a foot. The creeks are heavily silted and you really have to be careful in the backs, you can run out of water places that used to be shallow but safe.

Thanks for the report Pete. I'm anxious to see how the folks fishing the Bass Weekend Series do today. See you next Saturday for the ABA event.

That fish is "only" 6.3??? I'd guess 8+ as thick as it is. Nice one
