    1995 175 Evinrude Intruder stalling

First off, i'm not near my boat so currently I can't supply you with model and serial number.

I had the engine rebuilt this past winter, bored at 30 over, new pistons, rings, gaskets, and rebuilt carbs. The problem I'm currently having existed before the rebuild and the mechanic and I both thought the rebuild would fix the problem. We both had the same idea that since the bottom 2 cylinders were at 75 and 80 compression and since one of these "can't remember which" runs the VRO system; we both thought the motor wasn't getting sufficient fuel to operate at low speeds such as in neutral and while idling, just in gear, putting around and while trying to trailer the boat.

Well low and behold the first time in the water this year, perfect no problems; idles fine, ran in neutral after it came off of high idle, and even while putting around, even while trailering.....No problems.

Well here I am 10 hours later and once the motor comes off of high idle, I have to keep my foot barely pressed on the hot foot to keep it running just so it's getting a little more fuel than normal and it does the same in gear. Now once you come out of the hole.........no problems whatsoever, runs like a champ other than I hear this linkage type noise coming from behind me. It's hard to tell where its coming from since i'm usually the only one fishing. It may just be wind noise, I don't know?

While trailering the boat Thursday evening while trying to get the boat on the trailer, everytime I would put it in gear it would stall. Momentum had to carry me up to the trailer until I touched the bunks then I restarted and put it in gear....stalled. I tried this 4 times. Then I started to push the choke in repeatedly while in gear and hotfoot pressed and it finally caught enough to powerload onto the trailer.

Needless to say this is very annoying and my mechanic keeps telling me to try different trim angles, well i've tried every trim angle under the sun. Great mechanic but getting him to listen sometimes is like getting a doctor to listen to you when you know somethings wrong.

I'm looking for some ideas as to what could be wrong. Do these motors have timing issues that could be adjusted, VRO starting to go, fuel line clog, fuel filter clog?

All ears guys and thanks in advance.

dont know if same as mine---but could be fuel pump---if you look at my post just
a little farther down list ( look for 150 intruder cutting out) see if this sounds like
your situation---i guess fuel pumps big issue with these motors---lots of post on here about fuel pump problems
