got to the lake about 4:30 on friday and put in at rough canyon to fish the devils river. water temp 82 to 84 degrees . caught around 20 before dark. biggest was around 4lbs and lost a new jobaby spinnerbait to a 5+!!! fish were very shallow which was a complete surprise..but it was windy and rough..goood spinnerbait conditions! next day ran to the rio grande side of the lake and fished windy points with traps and spinnerbaits. caught 70 to 80 mostly dinks but DAMN it was fun decided on sunday to fish for bigger fish and wasn't dissapointed. caught some four and five pound fish in 17 to 20ft. but lost the big fish of the trip in 2 ft. flipped a worm behind a bush and it was on....i lost the batttle but got to see her when see came out of the clear water to throw the worm back at me!!!
boat traffic was INSANE for a lake in the middle of nowhere...glad i didn't stay for monday but wanted to spend some time with momma. "the blue jewel was GREAT!!"
