looking for some spots to fish on Amistad

Hey ya'll I'm headed to Amistad with my youngest son Jul 4-9 and looking for some pointers on where to start looking/fishing for bass. Last time I fished the lake was in 91' so I'm thinkin' things have changed a bit. I'll be basing out of the AF marina and have no problems traveling from there. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Well, I caught bass there in every depth from 4" of water to 60' of water. I caught fish on jerkbaits, lizards, topwater (yes, in 60'...I was trying to adjust my spool tension) worms, crankbaits, and more....I don't think you can go wrong...

Fishing was great! Best father son trip ever! We probably caught 150+ during our stay. Size range from .5lb all the way up to 7+. Early morning (Buzzbaits and Devil Sticks) and late evening T-rigged worms (5-10 ft) bite was the best. We explored the lake from marker 15 in Rough Canyon all the way to 19 near Good Enough Springs and caught fish on every stop. Caught 51 one day. Can't say enough good things about that lake. Thanks for asking!

    Sorry Trition T,
I'm up in Minnesota walleye fishing of all things and have limited access to a computer. It is easy gettin through to the AF marina. Call DSN to the Laughlin operator and they will connect you. If you don't have acces to DSN call the commercial number 47th Services Squadron and they will set you up. You can only make reservations 60 days in advance (if I remember right). I will be back in Texas next week and have better access to a computer if you have any more questions.
