Launched at 7:15 off the water at 3:30. What a nice day! Calm early, wind picked up around 10:30 and settled back down around 2 or so. Looked for shallow fish early on but didn't find anything. Moved into the timber and started catching a few. We boated 7, all nice slot fish with the biggest going 3 1/2 # and lost 4 more. Everything we caught was on a crank. 2 on a chrome/black back rattletrap, 3 on a chartruse/blue back Bandit 200, 1 on chrome/blue back Bandit 200 and 1 on a silver/black back Frenzy jerkbait. Seemed like my Bandit bites came just after bumping over limbs and letting the bait float up. They weren't big strikes, it seemed like the rod just loaded up and got heavy. Threw TR and CR watermelon brush hogs in the timber, with no success. Most of the fish we caught were in 6-8 feet of water with a couple in 12-14 feet. Tight lines.
