    Tounament at Santee

Our club out of Savannah had a Tx at santee this past weekend. We put in at Black's. Ithink we all had a good time and most everybody caught fish just not alot of them, but the ones we did catch were pretty good ones.

I got up enough courage to go across the upper lake to Wyboo creek. All was well going from canal to Wyboo, but coming back I must have been a little too far off my track on GPS and WHAM.. I nailed a stump about as big around as my motor. It scared the HELL out of me.. Luckily I saw it in enough time to steer left of it. Just hit the pad and made boat jump out of water. So in short you guys at Santee you are some BRAVE guys. I wish I had time enough on the lakes to learn how to run them like you guys do.

Even the best hit stuff in that lake. Even running inside the markers you are just as likely to hit something. But thats why we have insurance

It not a matter of hitting something on Santee it's a matter of when. With the group of about 10 guys I fish with with someone loses a lower unit every year. I have a dinged up and sanded prop I put on when hunting new water...Learned this the hard way

I guess you are right on the insurance but I really like my lower unit and want to keep it for a while!!! I thought the whole motor was gone when I saw that mammoth stump coming!!!! Lucky for me someone was looking out for me that day.
