Hardcore and myself fish the first Cooper River Bassmaster's open today on the River. Chilly morning witch made for a cold ride to our first area. Fished top water for the first hour with no luck what so ever, so we went to the bank and started fishing grass lines. The bite was very light today and all you would feel is a spongy or heavy feeling to indicate the strike. On the back side of a cold front and high pressure I believe the fish were reacting to our baits and not in the feeding mood. We both missed allot of strikes because the fish would hit the bait and spit it out before you could get a hook in them. We ended up catching our limit fish by 1pm and and caught another one before weigh-in that didn't help us at all. Ended up taking second buy 6 ounces with 11.8, but we fished our tails off and there isn't much you can do when the fish won't co-operate. All fish we caught along grass lines on Bummer Baits Sweet Creepers.
