Put in at Taylor's Creek landing a little after 5:30 AM and stayed until almost 3 PM...beautiful day on the water! Low humidity, little breeze, water temp in the low 80s...
1st time fishing this lake since last July, and ended up with a decent day considering...
Never got a topwater bite going, but we caught nine with the best 5 from our boat going just over 11lbs, big fish just over 3lbs...
Fished mostly upper part of lake in lightly stained to heavily stained water. No real pattern to speak of (except maybe water color)...caught them on natural and brightly colored cranks, tx rigged worms and lizards. Some caught off points, some shorelines with wood, a few off docks...
This report unfortunately may not be that helpful, but that is just the way it was. We weren't really killing it anywhere doing one thing, so we kept switching up tackle and location looking for a pattern and just caught a few fish here and there that added up to an OK day considering it was only the 2nd time fishing a new lake...
Definitely plan on making the trip back down again sometime before the end of fall...
