Was a little surprised by the wind, the forecasts didn't show it that high. Surface temp was 75 degrees. Put in at the city park ramp about 6:45 AM. Looked for protected pockets with cattails on the south banks in the cool end. Fished water 1 to 5 foot deep. Caught 9 nice sized keepers and several dinks. Six came on the shad colored 3" Storm Wildeyed swim bait. One came on a Shad colored Fluke. One came on a junebug colored powerbait shacky head worm. The last fish came on a red shad powerbait ribbontail worm. Most excitement came when a 22 lb carp hid the wildeyed shad....I was a little wildeyed myself until I discovered what I had. From two to three PM I caught nothing so loaded out. The lake was very crowded...some club had a tournament.
