Warmest January 6th since the 1920s so decided to take wife to Blue River to fish for trout. We fished the area which is north of the highway 7 bridge (east side of the river). Got there about 2:00 PM and fished with spinners, corn and power bait maggots using fluorocarbon 6 lb line on a six foot ultralight rod with open face zebco spinning reel. It was a bust until a little after 5:00 PM when the fish started biting. We were at a deep hole below a falls. We used small bobbers and cast up river toward the falls. Can't say I have found the trick...the bite comes fast and then your bait is gone. Did manage to catch two...we should have had two limits based on the number of bites.

Dinner was those two fish (nothing like fresh trout), warm French bread, steamed rice, fresh asparagus and fresh Queen Ann cherries for dessert

Life is good!
