    Fishing 1000 Islands?

Will be fun fishing 1000 Islands/St. Lawrence out of Clayton, NY the 4th week of June.
Does anyone have any pointers or suggestions. Do's or dont's? Any good restaurants?

And last but not least, where the fish are????

    Thanx

Smallies are spread out post spawn now, youll find them anywhere from 8' to 40'. They are following the bait, find the bait and you found the fish. Try tubes in natural colors when the sun comes up, and also jerk baits black & silver work best, early morning top water, top water, top water! Largemouth fishing has been pretty good also, find the weed beds holding bait and work with spinnerbaits, topwater, and weedless worm. If your going out of French Creek and just want to fun fish, you can have fun right there and out under the bridge with largemouth and northerns. The bass & pike there have been beat up really bad with the catch & release but you should still catch some. As far as restaurants, there are some in town mostly offering pub type fare, there is one on the main drag that is established as fine dining, but IMO food overpriced and not that great. Get out of town and hit the local joints like Roxy's and PJ's. Good luck & have fun.

Are you like Norm from Cheers and have a regular stool?

    Or, bouncer/security?

just me and the banshee enjoying good food, and some beers... very Fishermen kinda place. when perch is on the menu, GET IT! you can actually boat in and tie up at the town dock and walk over. great place. with the fishing though you may not have time... many a day fishing a long time have a few beers and fall asleep early...
I'll be up there the july 4th weekend and an extended stay for the federation event.
    enjoy mr bugs.

Went to O'brien's for supper. Very good food. Asked at the bar about Capticeman but no one knew that moniker and I didn't have a name. Gonna try fishing today!
