Fished Champlain out of Whitehall yesterday with my son and father. Sunny, warm, water 62-65 degrees, calm. Water is very murky for the most part.

We had a good day, caught around 25 lm bass and 20 pickeral as well as 15 perch/panfish.

Most of the bass were small, but we got 3 around 2 pounds, one three pound and one 4 pound. Broke off 2 other nice bass on the hook set. Both with Pline flouroclear, 12 #. Can't say I'm impressed with this line, shouldn't have broke off as easy as they did.

Lake was high and water flooded into woods and brush. Many of Bass and picks were near flooded timber or brush.

Caught two 3 1/2- 4 pound pickeral, and also caught a 6 1/2 pound tiger musky.

Fished a wide variety of baits. Chartruese/orange willow blade spinnerbait was hot early and caught the big musky late in day.

My father fished spinners most of the day and caught all species of fish on them. Both big pickeral were caught on spinners (silver blade with and without skirts). one of the 2 pound bass also caught on a # 2 spinner.

My son had luck early with a bandit shad colored crankbait, then with spinners.

In the few spots were water was fairly clear, Bass were also hitting FBB tx blaster (red metal flake) and otters (dark green/brown). Caught several on each fished weightless.

Biggest bass was caught on a V&M candy bug auger tail worm on a 3/16 slider head.

Fish were very aggressive for the most part, would charge out from under cover 3-5 feet and slam the bait.
