Hours on motor

I have seen 2 post recently from people with 90's model intruders stating they had xxx amount of hours on their motors where is the hour meter?
mine is a 94 150 intruder E150GLERA

You will only see them if you added an hour meter. The only way is to have it connected to a computer and the etec software will tell you. Any Evinrude dealer has the software to read the hours.

The carb engines don't have an EMM. Only way to know the hours is with an hour meter,since it was new, then they aren't reliable as they count from the moment the key is on.

Mike is correct the carb motors only rely on a gauge connected to the ignition switch to show hours on. Once the key is turned to the on position the clock starts running. No 'puter on the carb motors.

I have an hour meter on my intruder. Now after hearing this, I guess I should get those 27 hours checked....
