trying to remove lower unit removed the bolt but not sure what is next does the alum block pull out or are you suppose to slide the rod out I am not sure.

shift rod comes out[down the tube] , the block stays or you can take it loose but it doesnt come down threw the tube.

Disconnect the shift cable from the linkage move the shift linkage to forward. Pull the hitch pin off and slide the linkage to the left to disengage the pin from the shift rod.
