    Nashua River

I'll be heading to the Nashua River for the first time this weekend. Is the boat launch off of Broad St. a better launch then the one behind Stellos stadium? Is there many obstacles to look out for?

    Re: Nashua River (cmyers35)

I can honestly say, that that river is a waste of time. I would strongly recommend that you fish elsewhere, it's a very tough river to fish, and I've been fishing there since before I can remember. My uncle and father would take me along as a toddler and just wrap a bug net over me so they could still fish, since my uncle lives a mile away.

Went there yesterday, fought tooth and nail to find those fish, and fished from top to bottom (at Stellos stadium), and I only caught 1 fish.

To answer your question, I would say that Broad street ramp looks easier. I know where it is from the water, but I have no clue how to get to it from the road. Looks like it's parking along the street, saw two trailers parked there yesterday, maybe room for 1, MAYBE 2 more, so a max of 4 at best, not sure how turning around is though. Stello's launch is actually very easy to get in to. As for hazards, we ran it on plane from the dam to Overlook golf course, just stick to the middle and all is well.

Frank, where are you? I figure you'd jump all over Snover on this one.

River can be great if you know how to catch fish, unlike others

    Ouch....harsh.

I've been fishing that place forever, and I still can't figure it out.

    Re: Nashua River (Snover)

There is a "Father's Day" tournament on the Nashua this week out of Stello's. It is Sunday, $20, one fish/biggest fish (you can continue to upgrade, but only one fish per angler) and a payout of $500 for 1st, $300 for 2nd and $200 for 3rd. Good pay-out for short money.

The Stello's launch is by far the better launch and has a lot more parking. The fishing can be awesome there, but if it is HOT, the fish are tough to find. Early morning and late afternoon, you will find them in the normal places but in between, you have to know some of the hidden structure to find the bigger fish.

As I said, it is a good place to fish. Good luck.

Nah, I legitimately think Frank hates me, so he won't waste his time.

What is it with you guys, always trying to stir things up? Anyway, the ramp at Stellos is fine and there is plenty of parking.

As far as the fishing goes, I have taken a 7.5 out of there and have won a few T's there, one of them with an 18 pound bag. So yes, I guess it does suck.

Well, maybe when I get to be as old as a fossil and fish the hell out of that river, I'll figure out how to catch 2 fish a trip. I stick by my first opinion...that river sucks!

I'm with Snover. I can't stand that place. Fish seem to be few and far between. I know flipping the lily field that's on the right side going up stream produces fish. That's about it.

    Re: Nashua River (cmyers35)

I'll give it a shot, just to say I tried it. I'll be there pretty early, to see if I can get some top action. I'll let you know how I make out. Thanks for all the advice.

Not a complete waste of time. But it did take time to catch them. I was out from 5am to 10am. Caught 2 - 2lb LM and 1 - 1lb LM All on topwater. It was really spread out. About 1 hour between each fish. It does seem tough. I did see some cool birds though, I'll still go back and try again. Just not anytime too soon.
