    Mass gun question

    what's the law if you are a NH resident with a pistol permit and you visit the great state of Mass ?

    Leave the gun behind. You are refering to pistols right. Can be a bigger hassle than it's worth.

    I believe you will have to apply for a license to carry in MA.
    You may transport and posess a hunting weapon if it is during hunting season and you have a MA hunting license.
    The only others that may tranport weapons are FFL holders.
    There are also specifics on how the weapon has to be tranported in the vehicle also.
    When I used to be an FFL holder,I used to tranport to MA on a regular basis.

    There is no reciprocity with Mass, they do not recognize a NH permit nor any other state. If you wish to carry concealed in Mass you must apply for a non-resident LTC. The process takes months, entails an interview at the MA CHSB in Chelsea, and costs $100 annually.
