Fished my tournament yesterday with 23 boats. It was a tough day, but a few guys definately found them. I finished with 2 fish around 8 pounds, and 3rd biggest bass for the tourney with a 5.8. My topwater pattern didn't hold up because of the 20mph wind in my spot all day

Overall it was a great day and experience. Not sure what the winner was doing (22.7 lbs) but I know 2nd place (BF of 7.5 lbs) as well as many guys in the field caught their fish on frogs in grass. That's what my 2 fish came on as well. Water was 61-62.

I've got to get down to Mozingo yet this year. I can't believe I've not been down there yet in 2010. Headed to Stockton for the BBC Rally on Wed, so hopefully that'll go well. The forecast looks good at the moment.

The best part was I sight-fished it! I saw her back and tail up out of the water and she was swimming around slowly eating things on the outside edge of the weedline. When I first saw the fish I was thinking, wow, if that's not a carp, it's a reallllly good fish. Threw my frog about 2 feet ahead of the fish in the direction it was moving, saw the fish disappear for a split second, then she absolutely destroyed my frog! Then, thanks to my 7'6"H Outlaw rod, swung her into the boat! Gotta say it's the first time I've swung a 5.5 plus pound fish...definately one of my most memorable catches!
