Fished Table Rock Wednesday......and Stockton on Thursday 11/9 and 11/10

Paul and I went to Shell Knob on Wednesday and had a pretty tough day. We caught just a few and really had to work for those. Most of our fish came on the little white hammered spoon. We also caught a couple on the wacky worm and a spinnerbait. It was a beautiful fall day. The trees were magnificent. I love to be outside this time of year.

We caught large mouth and kentuckies, but no smallies this trip.

I really enjoy God's creation this time of year. Its awesome!!!

Then Thursday Andy and I went to Stockton. The trip started out pretty rough. We put in at
Mutton Creek and it was a mud hole. With the wind blowing at 30mph gusts, we drove the Statos around for an hour looking for cleaner water. I guess they had about 5 inches of rain early last week so everywhere we went we ran into mud.
So.........we loaded the boat back on the trailer and ran to Cedar Ridge. That turned out to be the turning point of the trip. We found cleaner water and large mouth bass chewing pretty good.

Andy drew first blood with a grub. Then he tried a new prototype crankbait he has
created and custom painted and one ate that. Then he took it off because he didn't want to loose his prototype and put on a stock crankbait and started just hammering them. It was freaking awesome. We caught a ton in a short span of time on just 3 or 4 banks.

This was one of those times when persistence and a "no quit" attitude paid off. Yes it was kind of a pain in the butt to load the boat and drag it to the other side of the lake. But....if we hadn't done that, as muddy as it was, I think we would have "hauled water" all day long. When we got to Cedar Ridge we ran up river first and ran into mud again. The northwest wind was creating some frightening wave action but we remained calm and put together a plan that worked out. We found the water color we were looking for and a little channel swing that was only getting about half of the wind. It was perfect, and there they were. Big fun!!!
