getting my fast strike ready for spring help

well I am about to get the boat out for first time sence last fall and was told to mark my oil tank and run 50-1 portable tank of gas threw the motor and check the oil tank level to make sure VRO is working...my question is how much oil for 2.5 gallon tank?? I am running XD50 if that matters

2.6 oz per gallon, or 6.5 oz for 2.5 gal

or to make it real easy, 1 pint to every 6 gallons

you can go buy the little pints or johnny/rude oil to see if your pumps working
at walmart

does everyone think this is really necessary? i am not bashing, just curious because i have had the same motor for 4 years now and have never done this before, although i have heard some of the fears of the VRO. Should i be doing this also? i have never had a problem with my motor, but after reading all of the topics about the vro i am scared now. is there anything else we should be doing to these motors after storing them for the winter?

I am with you Zack I want to protect my investment best I can, I was told 9 times outa 10 it would fail after being stored ... I was told 250 ml of oil to 2.5 gal gas not sure what it is in oz I will have to look
