Wow small world. My entire family is leaving from indy this weekend to fish the same chain as you. We have been fishing these lakes for over 40 years. I am flying out on monday to spend 10 days fishing as well. We stay on 3rd crow wing at the cabins called Big Timber Lodge. Fishing should be excellent as these fish don't get much pressure.

We'll be on the 8th, 9th and 10th Crow Wings at In-We-Go Resort.... we used to stay on 5th and 6th when I was a kid, but pickings are slim there, and the resort we used to stay at doesn't exist anymore.... Haven't been there in quite a while, and was just looking for some pointers... Maybe I'll run into you there...![]()
The last few years we have caught most of our fish on worms and horny toads in the rice. My suggestion is to pick up some toads and throw those till your arms fall off. Not familiar with the lakes you are on, but if they have rice and bullrushes which i am sure they do those toads won't do you wrong. Spinnerbaits are always good for us as well, however i prefer to throw something other than a spinnerbait.
Good luck and have a safe trip

Got back late last night, and boy did we have a blast!!!
Weather was hot for the first 2 days, and then it cooled off, buut it didn't affect the largemouth fishing one bit!!! We caught well over 100 fish between 1 1/2 and 5 pounds mainly on spider jigs along the deep weed edges. At one point Tuesday I caught 3 2 pounders in 3 casts!!! Got to the point I was tired of catching them...![]()
All of the fish we caught looked like footballs, they were so fat... I kept a few, and they all had crawdads in them...
Can't wait to go back!!!!![]()
