    Fished the Elk yesterday

Had a small club tourney out of the Elk yesterday. I was going to run to the Sass and the Northeast but coming around Turkey point at 7:15 am was a wet trip so I decided the bag it and head back into the Elk. Fished the Bohemia and nothing happening there for me, tried the rip rap just above the launch in the Elk and got one 2.4 pounds and lost another nice one when I set the hook and it just grazed the bass' mouth and came out. That cost me first place and several hundred dollars. Fishing was tough as a cold front moved through the night before. Got the one on shakey head 1/8 ounce I made and paired it with a black 4 inch cut tail I made with no salt to give it more action. The other one that I missed was on the same bait.
There was huge tourney, 87 boats, out of Anchor marine on Friday and Saturday and they released probably close to a thousand pounds of bass by the marina, so if you can get out to the Northeast this week you should do well there.

A couple of friends of mine fished the tournament out of Anchor last weekend, great weighin on Friday and far less on Saturday. Still, fishing was far better than a few weeks ago. Should be good at least through November.

Oh yea, I remember you. I'm still having nightmares about a certain bass that eluded the net in Cara Cove

Just kidding. I am relocating in the near future to central PA near Danville but I hope to continue fishing at least the ABA tournaments on the Upper Bay. The fishing in the spring on the Upper Bay is too good to miss. I hope to get on the water this Sunday.

nightmares... you and me both. that fish haunts me. i can't even look at a net without hearing him laughing somewhere off in the distance.
now, after running that scenario through my noggin a dozen times daily this season, i think i should have gone overboard. lol.

a slight easing of the mind when you quickly caught that next fish. eased a little more hearing that you had won the following tournament.

funny you should mention it as i was going to go out this morning and had a certain corner of cara cove marked up as my first spot to try. at 6am a faulty gate at the storage unit where i keep my boat put the kibosh on the trip. once again...

good luck sunday. you fishing the team tournament out of anchor? maybe ill see ya out there.

No more tournaments for me this year, just going fishing and I really just want to burn up some gas that has been in the tank since late August before topping it off for the winter.
