fished mississinewa this morning. water was about 76 degrees and kinda murky. took off this morning about 6:30 am. fished mostly points on the lake with crankbaits. caught a lot of dinks. (including a four inch smallie who hooked his mouth completely shut.) did catch a two and a half pound smallie on a blue and chart. fat rap. quit at 11:30 when the heat and the boat trafic got bad. all in all a pretty good day. had a pretty nice smallie on a worm who broke off right at the boat. (guess the drag was too tight, because when she made one last dive at the boat "plink". oh well

Sounds like you had a great morning! It's a shame you lost the one by the boat...but that is fishing!

After reading Soremouth's post, I decided it would be wise to take the day off and head to Mississinewa. Got on the water about 7am. Water was still about 74 degrees. I too fished the main lake points, made sure I was on points that went into deep water nearby. I caught one bass about 2 lbs, 3 dinks, and 6 nice size white bass. Caught them all on a black over white crankbait, a Thin N. Was there about 4 hours, no boat traffic to speak of...it was a pleasant day.

I wonder when the bubble will burst? I've caught fish the last two times I have been out!!!

fished miss today from 3:30 to 7:30 and managed to get 6 with 2 keepers ....1 was 15.25 and the other was right at 14 all fish were fat from eatting minnows...also when i was loading up to leave i did the worst thing ever and forgot my keys in the truck and the door shut and locked me out with my truck running on the ramp.luckly the door was cracked open just alittle bit and i took one of my rods and stuck it threw the top and got my window to roll down....took me about 30 mins in the dark to get it done but thank god i got it ..... ill be sure to never do that again...but besides that it was a good day

Just a little tip that might help you in the future. Get a spare truck key made and keep it in the boat. I've done that for years and years and only have needed it once...but was very glad I had it with me.

fished miss again today from 7:30 -10:15 and caught 11 today....with only 1 being a keeper but with a few 13" most fish were caught on crankbaits..wish i could have stayed longer but it started pouring so i left

Nice report Josh as it sounds like you had a good time...except for the truck key incident!

me and my buddy decieded to take the boat out today.....it was very cold probably in the low 30's....we started out fishing jigs with no success then i tried fishing a rattle trap with also no success......so we both 0....but it was atleast nice to finally get the boat out..weidner21

fished from 2pm-7:20 and had a great day...i caught 48 bass ranging from 10"-16"ers......i caught 3 14"s 2 15"s and 1 16" and the rest were 10"-12"...all the bass were back in the creeks......i was using a eakins finesse jig with the end piece of a baby brush hog for a trailer..i thought it was still alittle early for them to be up in the creeks......i plan to be out there everyday this week with the action being so good....weidner21

fished 4/13 from 9:30-11.....i didn't want to mess with the boat today so i made a walk to a spot of mine.........i caught 22bass.....i also caught my personal best today that went 5lbs 6oz which makes me mad cause i didn't have a camera or anyone with me to see it.....i also caught a 4lb 5oz....and some other 2lbers....its was a real nice out there and looks like its going to stay like this so ill be back out there tomorrow..........weidner21

fished miss 4/15 from 7am-12:30......i caught 62 bass and my dad caught 28 bass.....most bass came on a eakins jigs in the back of the creeks......biggest was 4lbs.....my arms are pretty sore from setting the hook all day......it was a wonderful day out today....plan to go back out tomorrow and also do alittle mushroom hunting tomorrow....weidner21

Well I had a free weekend, no tx or family committments, so my oldest daughter (13) and I decided to fish the Miss and campout Saturday night at the campgrounds. I will say, this is one we will remember. I have never fished here before, even though it is only about 50min from the house. I came away impressed with the SRA's and the lake layout. Very much like a smaller Patoka with the standing timber and creeks that flow into it. We fished Saturday from Noon to 5p and caught 15+ LMB, with the biggest being 4lb, caught by my daughter. Sunday was more of the same, we caught at least 30 LMB and two Crappie (one being 15 inches) from 8a - Noon. Most were 8 to 12 inches, but it didn't matter, we had a great time. It appears that the last two years spawn have been very productive at the Miss. I will say, that with in the next 3 years, it will be a very good bass factory.

fished miss 5/17 from 7am-1pm with 2 of my buddies.....we ended up catching 28 bass with probably 20 of them being under 10"....we did get a few bass that were over 14" and with a few 13"ers......all fish came from the main lake on x-raps,spooks,crankbaits and spinnerbaits....we tried flipping in the coves and didn't have much action......weidner21

That IS a lot of bass. That lake will be awesome in a year or two I would guess. Fish there quite a bit myself. Plan to go there tomorrow.

fished 5/23 from 10:30am-2:00pm ....i ended up with 16 bass with alot of them being 12"-14" with a few dinks.....all fish came on spinnerbaits and jigs......plan to hit it again in the morning.........weidner21
