    Anglers Choice

Any BBC members fishing the tourney on Springfield this Sunday? It's not on the website but I was told there was one this weekend and next weekend.

Not me, Our club tournament on Springfield is in Sept. How are you adapting to the Illinois weather?

It's so hot I break out in a sweat everytime I lift my beer! Other then that it's going pretty good.

I'd still like to come to your club meeting as a gues if that's ok. Can you give me a call with the date (I think it's the 1st Tue) and directions? 719 332 2826

    Re: Anglers Choice (Mike Daley)

I can fish the 29th in you want to. Problem is I'm a non boater so we would have to use your boat. I 've been out there about 15 -20 times this year and in the last 4 thursday night T's got 1st twice and 3rd twice. We could prefish a couple times if you want. Cost is $150 for the T and I'll pay your half since we are using your boat. Just let me know. You can e-mail me at mikeyd78@hotmail.com or my cell is 217-553-8166.

Let me double check with the boss lady tonight. That would be fun.

Are there tournaments there every thursday night as well? Thursday is hit or miss for me. Where do you look to find other buddy bass tourneys in the area?

Every Thursday from 5 until 8:30. Even if you don't have a partner its just a fun way to go out and try some new things and just get familar with the lake. Its $20 to fish.

Here are some sites to check out. http://www.724outdoors.com they list most of the tournaments for the year in Illinois and Missouri. ITT is a big trail at Lake Shelbyville( don't know website just search ITT tournament trail).
http://www.ilfishing.com will give you some good info on area lakes.

There are a good amount of buddy tournaments on Lake Springfield but you have missed alot of them. We have Megabux in April and The National Guard Tournament in June which are both big ones. Lots of smaller ones that are word of mouth. Anglers Choice is the only circuit that is here all year around.

There are a lot of tournaments around this area, just depends on where you want to go. Clinton Lake use to have Thursday nighters also, but not sure if they still do.

I've been on the lake twice now. Haven't been skunked yet but no big ones either. Once my map gets here I can start exploring some deeper structure. The city sure is proud of that lake. Over $100/yr for a lake permit!

This is the worst time of the year to fish that lake. September through early November will be alot better. It has slowed down alot in the last 3 weeks.

Tough time of year for sure. I checked out the weigh in on Thursday night and I think 3 fish between 8 and 9 #s won.

I plan on checking out the weigh in thiss weekend too. I may even get a couple hours of early fishing in before I have to take my sone to get his football pads.

    Re: Anglers Choice (Fish_4_Five)

I have approval from "both" of my bosses to fish this weekend. If anyone needs a partner for the Anglers Choice (Springfield) this Sunday let me know. I have a boat or can go as a coangler.
