    New to boards

hey guys, new here, but love to bass fish. I have and don't laugh a 1986 Basschamps agressor w/ 75hp evinrude. Ain't super fast, but at least I not the very last one to leave the docks. I have fished some of the local open tournaments without much sucess. Any tips? Oh, by the way I do use Kistler Rods.

Welcome!!! And remember fish don't care if you in a paddle boat fishing with a zebco 33. Make the most out of what you have and fish away. If you are new to the Savannah area read the the past topics on the Savannah river there is alot if info in there to be found, as long as you can sipher though all the jabbing those two individuals over there running them yellow boats!! The tide water area is a very effective place to fish, basically east of 95. Crankbaits, jigs, spinnerbaits all work well throughout the enitre river system. North of cliffs landing is where there are more "lakes" and fishing around the cypress tress can produce some good fish (2-7 lbs), fishing the river is best during the summer months. The lakes are good producers as well as the small oxbows. Most folks they will prefer to fish the outgoing tide. Fall and winter fishing there can be some of the best times to fish and it is certainly the least crowded times to fish. The spring time generally takes anywhere from 12-18 lbs to win an event, while the rest of the year it takes around 8-14 lbs to win. Now if you want some bigger fish then I would recommend putting in up around the Clyo ramp.

Good luck, and if you see them yellow boats out there stop and say hello Ole Billy and Glenn are some of the finest folks fishing that river. Though not sure how much longer Glenn will be around. Hopefully I will be bcak there One day.
