Was there in Nov, The banks on the west side of Harris and the 9th street canal was were alot of anglers were concentrating. The water was really low and most docks were almost out of the water. The docks on the west bank of Harris had about 2-3 feet off the very ends of them and prior to the event we had relatively calm conditions and blue skies. Fished a pumpkins seed color booyah jig, tipped with twin grub tails in same color with the tails dipped in chartruse dye. Fised all the docks and they were hammering it pretty good. There is also 4-5 sections where old dock pilings are along this bank, fish a spinner bait and crankbait along these pilings. The first two days of the event the wind was blowing right against the shore there and the fish deserted the docks and moved out in the 6-8 foot range and was able to catch a few on day 2 out in open water. The fish should be getting ready to do their thing and I would concentrate on prespawning areas that lead to the canals, and coves. The cove on the SE side of Harris behind the island- (back by harris lake lodge) has some good vegetation-pads) and plenty of boat docks in there, this would be a good area to start (IMO), sorry but thats all I got for now. If it is a small tourney and the lake is not crowded then the 9th street canal would be my other best bet. As you approach the 9th st canal, the bank on the left has a few docks with some deeper water, fish these, then head into the canal itself. The entrance to the canal is about 10-14 feet deep, work a crankbait and junedug trick worm in the entrance, fish should be stacked up in there, once you are done in the mouth continue to work the entire canal.
Good Luck
