The flats are really low so all the fish AND GATORS have moved into the canals. Catching 1 and 2 lbs bass is like shooting ducks in a barrel. We have even got a few up to 5 lbs. If you flip you can get the bigger ones. It does not matter where you go.

went out today South, best 5 would have been right around 20...nothing over 6...Have to go w big baits to keep the dinks off..
You must be up the miami canal ??/I havent been N of the weir in a while..
yeah I was north in the Miami canal and yes the dinks were a pain. They had the King of the Glades TX Sunday. Took 29 lbs to win. Most were way south near US 41. That's a good run from Holiday ramps.

What happened to all the hydrilla in the Miami Canal, was there thurs. and it is all gone!!!
Was there Saturday after the front and only caught about 6 to about 2 1/2# missed 5 others.. Went to the ally.. The fish were being stuborn but they are there..
There was a small T there Sat as well and I think they ALL went south.. Louis
Fished the last qualifier for King of the Glades on April 1. South from below Miami Canal down to 41. No luck for us. The bass were small. More sunfish and mudfish than bass. They were big too. Hitting everything ... crankbaits, worms, and jigs, large and small sizes, fast and slow retrieves. Congrats to the winners with 27 lbs. There needs to be a mudfish tournament for dead fish. They are out-competing the bass and eating up the food supply.
I will going down south to fish the holiday park area later in the month. Can anyone help me with color, type of worm, hard bait color? I have never fished that area and I'm really looking forward to it. I mainly fish harris chain and i'm used to the june bug/trick worm, central florida tactics. Will those work down there? Thanks in advance

Green pumpkin and water melon trick-worms have been the hot ticket for Bass up to 3 lbs but a lot of dinks hit them also. Top water has been doing good all day long. I used a sora spook and did real well last week. North in Miami Canal has been hot but do not go past the be camp with the two houses. To many gators at the far north end.
