I got my E TEC put on the Computer !!!!!!!

My engine is a 225 HO 08 mdl and I havent had many issues with it , its been a good motor to me over the last year ! But I put it in the shop cuz the starter had been givin me some trouble , they changed ( under warranty ) and put it on the Comp to check the hrs for me ! It had 277 hrs on it and I think thats a good bit for an 08 mdl ! Most of those were put on there by the guy I bought it from . What are the hourly life expectancy of these motors , if anyone has a clue ?

Inky is a guide on Santee Cooper, and to my knowlege he hasn't had any trouble. That's why he has considerable hours on his.

I has an 2005 225HO DI motor with starter issues. Make sure they check all your ground studs for corrosion - I think there are 11 or 12 of them. It turned out on mine to be a corroded starter cable - have them checked for impedence. The wire and terminals looked fine, but after cutting the wire jacket open, solid green copper. This is why it was intermittent - worked when wet, but not when dry - very frustrating.

kind of doubt you will wear the motor out if thats what you are worried about, lots of engines go for 1,000's of hours, something else will kill it long before it wears out, like too big a prop, or a water pump failure, rust/corrosion or an oil system failure, but it almost certainly will never wear out with normal recreational use.
