Great engines!! Keep 'em clean, run a good oil, and a good maintenance program they will run forever......
they are great engines. it is a 60* block, carbed but if its still connected it is oil injected through a vro/oms pump. the engines have been built since 1991 all the way until 1998/1999 they are very reliable and great running engines. lots of power and performance out of the little engine. i have a 1993 johnson faststrike ( same engine )and it pushes my ranger easily 64 gps with a light fishing load. they are probably the best engines omc ever built IMO. they have 6 indipendant carbs at each cylinder bank they are placed right in front of the reeds so the air/fuel mixture has less distance to travel to the combustion chamber. this increases the engine performance drastically.
