    Wheeler 7-10 & 7-11

Friday night fished the lower end of Wheeler and caught a bunch (maybe 25) of small fish on spinnerbaits and plastics. Saturday afternoon fished the Decatur area and found schooling fish in several places. Schooling fish caught on just about anything we threw. Did manage to find a few good fish with a best 5 around 20lbs. Pics below of the 4 best from 4 - 5 lbs. One thing we did notice was that alot of the fish we caught were very skinny looking. Didn't find any grass in the flats We also found several schools of stripe busting minnows along the river channel.

Me with one close to 5lb caught on 10" worm:

Another 4+ caught on a worm:

My buddy Greg with one about 4lb caught on spinnerbait:

and another about 5lb caught on a 3/4oz. Redeye shad:

Those are some nice ones, you are right they are a little skinny. any idea as to whats going on?

A gentlemen I know was trying to bream fish up around lakefront on 79 the past several weeks and had no luck with any good beds, even in his honey holes. he has tried south of there also.

he had caught some skinny bass also. weather got them messed up or to much spraying up in gville has made its way down there?

BTW I know its not bass but we caught some nice cats on wilson below the dam a couple of weeks ago with the kids.
It\'s a dog eat dog world out there and I\'m wearing milk bone underwear! \"Norm Peterson\" Cheers.

Hey Curt, don't know what's going on with the skinny fish but I suspect with less cover (grass) to hide in they're having to work harder for less food. I would have thought they would have recovered from the spawn by now and been feeding up. A lot of the smaller fish we caught were thin.

Good deal on the cats, I'd heard they been bitin'. Don't matter what you're catching as long as the family's having fun
