Date Fished: 10/14/2006
Water Temperature: 76
Water Clarity: 1 foot

Got out with a member I met about 3 weeks ago, Barry Walker. Barry was a real pleasure to fish with. We met at Cliffs landing and headed out just as daylight broke. Morning run was quite brisk as temperatures hovered around the mid to upper 40s. First stop, found a small area which was actually holding some schooling fish, I had a decent fish come unbuttoned on top water, then about 4 cast later finally got the first one in the boat,a decent fish of about 1.75 lbs. After that a few fish continued to bust but could not get any interst in the topwater. Moved down about 100 yards and Barry catches a decent keeper. Were were switching back and forth from top water to spinner baits, to soft plastics, and started catching some decent fish. Barry was showing me around and we finally put a nice one in the boat right around 3 lbs.. We ran around the rest of the afternoon from the I10 bridge all the way up about 6 miles past Bryants Lower landing and we found fish at all but 2 stops. I wish I could say a difinitive pattern was developed, but they were hitting at all depth ranges from 1 foot to 9 feet. And all all types of baits.Junk fishing at it's best! At our last stop we got the nicest fish of the day right about 3 o'clock, just as the guys from the Fish'n'fever tourney were heading in, this one went close to 3.5 and was about 19 inches long, it should have been a little heavier, for it's size but still a good fish. All in all we ended up with right around 9-10 lbs for our best five and caught around 15 fish for the day. It was a great day with a ton of boats on the water, the post frontal condtions did not seem to hurt the bite at all.
