I am not extremely familiar with the two Shimano products, but I can say that I honestly believe you will not find a better rod for the money than the Denali Jadewood rods. They start at $90 and have a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturers defects. They are lightweight with quality components, including ringlock guides. These guides are made so as to keep the inserts from popping out which happens on many rods. Everybody I show my Jadewoods to are very impressed.

I am biased because I have only used the shimano rods, but I gaurantee the warranty is as good or better than Denali. Sensitivity and lightness are great on the crucials! Compres are just a tad bit heavier.
