    Shimano warranty issue

So I shipped two broken Shimano rods back to them on the 4th of this month....Hadn't heard anything so I finally called them and they said they'd never received them...Shipped the rods USPS and went to the post office today and got the documentation that says they were delivered to Shimano on the 10th...Called them back with this news and still nothing...Supposed to fax them the documentation today so it'll be interesting to see how this all plays out

However I must say that so far I'm extremely pleased with their customer service and the steps they're taking...Did I ever mention that things like this is why I own 95% Shimanos

I would check into over the counter small retailers next time, we have at least one local and he sends them back with no shipping charges or paper work. If he doesn't have your rod in stock his rep brings it to him. This is a real little run down looking bait shop, I have drove by it for 15 years never stopping before a bud gave me the tip.

They might have a list on their site somewhere to look for local smaller retailers.

This is true, I have heard the same thing. Over the counter warranty, and no questions asked.

    Re: Shimano warranty issue (fluke1987)

it is over the counter, but the nearest dealer i know of that participates in the over counter is atleast an hour away....we have a dealer here in town but I had him send one back and he charged me 25 bucks to ship it because his stock is very very slim

So after calling 6 times in 4 days and trying to get ahold of somebody that knows somebody that knows somethin bout it, I get home today and there's a rod tube sitting there....Open it up and there's a warranty replacement rod inside....Only problem is I sent two rods back, and only got one in return

Again, I must say, that I'm completely happy with Shimano up to this point...Will be making another call today to see about the other rod...Only good thing is they sent me the Cumara and shorted me the Crucial instead of vice versa

Have nothing but good things to say about Shimano's customer service. Most everything I use is Shimano for this reason.

I had a rod breakage issue with a Shimano Cumara once, and they handled it prompt & fair

Rods are in limited supply at this time and they are filling backorders and warranty issues as soon as the assorted varieties land.

Some will come from Irvine and some from NCarolina, depending on stock status.

    Re: Shimano warranty issue (reelex)

I sent 3 back a couple months ago (Crucial and Cumaras). I asked if I could change sizes and they sent me the exact sizes I asked for no questions asked and did not charge me return shipping or anything. They do have great customer service, just not quite the greatest rods but I definitely love the warranty

    Re: Shimano warranty issue (whitetailbasser)

Called and talked to them after I got the rod and they were still telling me they hadn't received my rods....Somethings either a little fishy or their communication was way off....finally talked to a supervisor who told me the other rod had to come from a different warehouse like reelex said....It's amazing how they didn't know what kind of rods I sent in, didn't have my rods, yet the knew which ones to send me for a replacement

Even though I've had to call several times to get anything accomplished, I'm still pleased with the way I was treated...I know anytime you're dealing with a company that large that handles that kind of volume, you're going to have a few flaws...It all got straightened out, and I will continue to buy all Shimano products
