Has anybody used these rods?
How do you rate them to other rods?

There are a LOT better rods for the money IMHO. They're heavy and feel dead in my hands... BTW - he helped "design" these rods, but they aren't "his" creation...
.
I agree with bronzefly. Many other rods that will perform better. Most of which can be had far under the price of the tfo rods.
Just had this conversation with a clown at Cabela's...Just off the top of my head, the Shimano Compre would be a good place to start in the $100 ballpark.
Thanks Guys I held one at BP and they are a little heavy think I will keep looking my BP is out of Swimbait rods.
Most of my rods are CUMARA's I think I'll stay with high end.
If anybody has a 7'5"+ Swimbait rod they aren't using I'm looking for one.

TFO paid Gary Loomis $$ to put his name on them and that was about it.
If you are looking for a great rod in the $100 to $130 price range I highly recommend looking at the Falcon Bucoo's. lightweight, sensitive, and made in the USA. Tough to beat for the price....![]()
Agree with shimano compres. I have a mojo and premiers I use for moving lures and they work fine for that. Contact baits I use a high end lami and Avids. I got a Fenwick HMG recently for $40...close your eyes and it feels and performs like $200 bucks. Its no hype or bullsh!#, just a performance tool. Rods and reels dont need to be all that complicated, many people love the old plain jane Loomis IMX's, because they perform. I would look at Compre's, Bucoo's, and HMG's. Ive seen some Rapala XML rods for sale for $60 bucks recently, they feel really nice. The BnR Outlaw rods feel nice too, similar to an Avid, $150, Made In USA, and a lifetime warranty.![]()
I looked into the TFO's, there are alot better rods available for the money.
Question everything!

Its a shame that the Gary Loomis name is associated with those piece of crap TFO rods. I love working store events and hearing the know it all's explain how they are the same thing as buying an actual G Loomis. Like previously stated there are alot of other rods I can think of that are a much better bargain. If it was my 100 dollars it would go to the Compre.
