I bought my 1994 Fast Strike (J150GLERA) with the VRO pump un-hooked (premix). I didnt know a ton when i bought the boat but i believed the VRO wasnt on the boat at all like it was completely removed. I looked the other day and the VRO is actually still installed. It it brand new as well as the entire powerhead assembly when i bought the boat (new powerhead had 2 hours on it when i bought it). That being said i put about 15 hours on the motor before i winterized her and put her away. I have been thinking of hooking the VRO back up to avoid mixing gas and getting the correct ratio all the time because premix is constant 50/1 and the VRO varies with rpm i believe. Is this a good idea?? I heard it can be bad to run the VRO with no oil going through it.

Is there anyway i can get the VRO vacuum tested to ensure it is working correctly?

Is my VRO the VRO2?

Would you johnson gurus do this or would you continue to premix as it is not that big of a deal and i have more piece of mind. I think the VRO actually uses a little less oil on average too right?

On a different note if i choose to not hook the VRO back up can the VRO be removed for the motor and still allow the motor to run or is it incorporated into the fuel pump?

What is that plug?
